Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Friday 8/29/2008

We arrived in Jackson Hole around 3:00 local time and took a walk from our hotel (Wyoming Inn) to the historic downtown area of Jackson, Wyoming.  We stopped for a visit to the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar where the bar stools are saddles.  It is across the street from the city park that has elk antler archways on each corner of the park.  We shot this short video of the downtown area after we saw the cool stage coach giving rides to tourists. We had a dinner of Elk and Buffalo at the Gun Barrel Steak and Game House.  It both smelled and tasted wonderful.

New York City - Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island

Saturday, August 23, 2008

It was a glorious day in the City and Stephen and Ryan Mitchell came home from Boston after finishing their summer work at DEKA and Mitre to enjoy one more trip into the city before Mom and Dad move South.  It was decided that Ryan needed to see the Statue of Liberty up close, so we ordered tickets for the ferry and monument (to stand in a long line and go up to the top of the pedestal).  The day was beautiful and the ferry, although crowded was a fun way to get another view of New York City.  A nice time was had by all and after a quick trip to Ellis Island, we detoured by Chinatown to buy a new tea pot and cups and have a wonderful dinner on the way home.  Everyone slept well after trying out the new tea pot and cups!!
